Laurent Urschel has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Laurent started their career as a Mechanical Engineer in the Air Force in 1992. Laurent then worked as a Design Engineer for FRAMATOME Novatome company in 1993. From 1994 to 1995, they served as a Software Engineer within INTERFACE company, working on various projects related to diagnostic software and data acquisition. In 1996, they became the Chief Project Manager for Global Manufacturing Tools within DECAN company at Renault Trucks. From 1999 to 1999, they worked as a PD Project Manager for VOLVO 3P – EEE Lyon within DECAN company at Mack Trucks, where they coordinated the embedded electronic systems on the MIDLUM vehicle. In 2000, they became the Head of the Scientific, Technical, and Industrial Business Unit in Lyon for GETRONICS company, where they were responsible for managing key accounts. In 2002, Laurent returned to Renault Trucks and served as the Chief Project Manager for "Software and Production Processes", overseeing IT and industrial applications development. From 2007 to 2011, they became the Group Manager for Quality Electricity/Electronics, responsible for project and maintenance management on various truck models. Laurent then transitioned into roles related to aftermarket services and product management, serving as the Director of Project Aftermarket and Quality Action Group for Volvo Group Trucks Sales and the Director of Soft Product Management for UD Brand in Volvo Group Trucks Sales. From 2016 to 2017, they became the Vice President of Service Offering for the UD Trucks Brand and Product, defining the service strategy and identifying business potentials. Since 2017, Laurent has held the role of Vice President Aftersales for Renault Trucks Europe, overseeing aftersales operations for the company.

Laurent Urschel obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Industrial Automation applied to mechanical industries from Roanne, France in 1991. Prior to that, they completed a degree in Mechanical and Production Engineering (D.U.T) from Villeurbanne, France in 1989. Laurent also completed a D.E.A. in Mechanical & Industrial Automation from Lyon, France in 1992. The specific field of study for each degree is not provided.
