Philippe Guérin-Boutaud is the EVP of Group Quality at Renault Group. Philippe has previously worked as the Program Director for Nissan Mid- & Mini-cars Global Markets and as the Executive Vice President of Renault Samsung Motors - Product and Process Engineering Head.

Guérin-Boutaud has a proven track record of boosting profitability and reducing costs. Philippe was responsible for Nissan Sentra’s sales volume doubling in the US and Nissan Sylphy’s sales volume tripling in China in just four years. Philippe also successfully introduced new methodologies for cost reduction, achieving 7%+ net cost reduction per year.

At Renault Samsung Motors, Guérin-Boutaud led the company through a difficult period, facing a strong FOREX crisis due to JPY vs KRW variation after Fukushima tsunami. Philippe implemented a Revival Plan on Vehicle Variable Costs which achieved -10% vehicle net cost reduction in one year and -20% in two years. At the same time, they reduced RSM’s fixed costs by -35%.

Thanks to Guérin-Boutaud’s strong leadership and engineering skills, Renault Group is now a well-respected, profitable company.

The educational career for Philippe Guérin-Boutaud includes attending the Ecole Centrale de Paris, which is a top French engineering school. Philippe also has a master's degree from Université Paris-Saclay, as well as a master's degree from Carnegie Mellon University - Tepper School of Business.
