Curran Hughes has a diverse and extensive work experience. From 2021, they serve as the President and Cofounder of Renegade Plastics. Prior to that, they worked at Danone as a Strategy Manager from 2019 to 2021, where they handled growth investments and acquisition due diligence. In 2019, they were the Director of Operations and Business Development at Talus Analytics, responsible for spearheading operations, company growth strategy, and business development. In 2018, Curran worked at Wonderful Orchards as the Manager of Agricultural Technology Development, where they focused on data-driven crop management and technology development partnerships. From 2013 to 2018, they were at The Wonderful Company, first as the Manager of Strategy, leading a tech team and overseeing corporate relations, and then as the Associate Manager of Strategy, where they created a long-term technology strategy and restructured the Texas citrus growers' association. Before that, Curran worked at UC Davis, first as a Project Analyst at the International Programs Office in 2012-2013, and then as a Junior Specialist in 2011-2012. Curran also was a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of California, Davis in 2010-2011. In 2009-2010, they were an Urban Farm Developer at Seattle Urban Farm Company. Prior to that, they served as the Resident Director of Language Programs at American Councils for International Education from 2008-2009 and as an Instructor at Lorosa'e English Language Institute (LELI) in 2007-2008. Overall, Curran has demonstrated expertise in strategy, business development, agriculture technology, and international programs.
Curran Hughes obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography/Urban Planning and Russian Studies from Macalester College, where they attended from 2002 to 2007. They also completed an Intensive Russian program at Language Link in 2003-2004. In 2005, Curran further enhanced their language skills by participating in the Summer Language Workshop at Indiana University Bloomington, focusing on Intensive Tajik. In 2010, Curran pursued a Master of Science degree in International Agricultural Development at the University of California, Davis, which they completed in 2012.
