Jamez Staples

Jamez Staples is an experienced leader in the renewable energy sector, currently serving as President of Renewable Energy Partners Inc since September 2013. Prior to this role, Jamez held the position of General Manager at Global Imports Plus from April 2005 to April 2013. Jamez's educational background includes participation in the Policy Fellows Program at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs from April 2016 to April 2017, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Business Administration and Management from Concordia University-St. Paul. Additionally, Jamez earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Business from Normandale Community College.

Renewable Energy Partners (REP) is a Minnesota for-profit company based in North Minneapolis. Founded in 2014 by Jamez Staples, a lifelong Minneapolis resident, REP is Minnesota's oldest certified MBE Solar Developer. We help organizations maximize the revenue potential of their unused roof space and leverage each project for its unique workforce development potential. In addition to providing flexible, high-quality construction services to its customers, REP is committed to improving the lives of families living in North Minneapolis. REP is an active partner with individuals and groups that share its vision for creating a renaissance on the Northside. Our vision is to address the numerous disparities in our community, including education, skills gaps, and economic participation, to increase the health, wealth, and homeownership of those around us. REP has established partnerships with a range of experienced contractors and vendors. We are available for sub-contracting and installing solar energy systems or other energy-related equipment. REP will also work with its partners to assemble a project team to provide the full range of Engineering, Procurement and Construction services from initial system design through commissioning and interconnection.
