Automation Manager at Renewable Energy Systems

Alec Fiala has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Alec began their career as a Shelver at the Denver Public Library from August 2012 to August 2013, where they ensured accessibility of library materials and managed materials between different branches. From January 2014 to August 2014, Alec worked as the HELIOS III Electrical Power Systems Team Lead at the Colorado Space Grant Consortium, managing the sub-team responsible for the electrical aspects of the HELIOS III payload. Alec organized efforts to meet presentation deadlines and assisted in integrating the payload with the launch system. In 2014, Alec also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder, helping freshmen engineering students with group work, problem-solving, and meeting deadlines. From October 2013 to July 2017, they served as a Student Assistant at the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences, providing problem-solving support, logistical assistance, and creating a positive environment for office visitors. Alec joined RES in July 2017 as an Energy Resource Engineer I and II, contributing to renewable energy projects globally and supporting a large client base. Alec then transitioned to the role of Data Engineer in January 2021, focusing on data management and analysis. Most recently, Alec became the Automation Manager at RES in December 2021.

From 2013 to 2017, Alec Fiala attended the University of Colorado Boulder, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering.
