Service Project Manager (ea3) at Renewable Energy Systems

Alex Tonge has extensive work experience in the energy sector, specifically in high voltage operations and control engineering. They have been working for RES, the world's largest independent renewable energy company, since 2020. In their current role as HV Operations Manager, they oversee the maintenance and inspections of onshore and offshore equipment, ensuring safety management of OFTO assets. Prior to joining RES, Alex worked at National Grid for several years, starting as a Trainee Substation Engineer and eventually progressing to a Senior Authorised Person. They gained hands-on experience in maintaining various plant and equipment, ranging from 240v to 400Kv. They also played a key role in equipment maintenance on the HV electricity system, demonstrating strong project management skills.

Alex Tonge attended South Essex College from 2009 to 2011, where they obtained a BTEC degree in Engineering. In 2014, they studied at the National Grid Eakring Training Centre and completed the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health. From 2011 to 2013, Alex studied at Aston University, earning a Foundation degree in Electrical Power Engineering.
