Iain Buchanan

Iain Buchanan has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Iain currently holds the position of Project Development Manager at RES, a role they have been in since July 2022. Prior to this, from 2020 to 2022, they worked as a Development Manager at GreenPower International Ltd.

Iain has also gained experience in the energy sector, having worked at ScottishPower from 2016 to 2019 as an Assistant Project Manager. Before that, from 2012 to 2015, they served as a Woodland & Biomass Coordinator at Transition Stirling.

Furthermore, Iain started their professional journey in 2009 at The Energy Agency, where they worked as an Energy Advisor, providing detailed advice on renewable energy technologies, heating and insulation measures, and grant assistance and payback schemes. Iain held this part-time role while studying for their degree.

Prior to their involvement in the energy sector, Iain worked at HP from 2005 to 2007 as an Account Manager. In this role, they sold PC solutions to commercial and public sector accounts, effectively utilizing their technical knowledge, negotiation skills, and influence abilities to develop new clients and exceed sales targets.

Iain Buchanan attended the University of Glasgow from 2008 to 2012, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Green Technology with a focus on Environmental Science.
