Director Civil And Structural Engineering at Renewable Energy Systems

James Godwin has a diverse work experience in engineering and project management. James started their career in the US Navy as a MM1/SS/DV (Nuclear) from August 1983 to August 1989. After that, they worked as a Field Tech - Staff Scientist at IT Corporation from April 1991 to April 1995. James then joined LFR Levine-Fricke as a Staff Engineer - Field Tech from June 1997 to January 2001, where they managed remediation projects and conducted pilot tests for various remedial technologies. James worked at ARCADIS as a Project Engineer from April 2001 to March 2007, where they served as a Structural Engineer for telecommunications tower sites and equipment platforms and as a Civil Engineer for environmental compliance and site investigations. James then moved to RS&H as a Project Engineer from April 2007 to September 2010. Currently, they are working at RES Americas since November 2010 as the Director of Civil and Structural Engineering, where they are responsible for the design of civil infrastructure and structural foundations for utility-scale wind and solar projects in the US and Canada.

James Godwin attended Leon King Senior High School from 1980 to 1983, but did not receive a degree or specialize in a particular field of study during this time. Later, they enrolled at the University of South Florida from 1995 to 2000, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
