Sarah Felix

Sarah Felix is a Professor of Practice at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute since August 2020, specializing in undergraduate education, course development in controls and design, and academic advising. Prior to this role, Sarah served as Lead Research Engineer at GE Global Research, focusing on monitoring and controls for industrial applications, and as a Research Engineer at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where projects included neural interface devices for clinical applications. Early experience includes roles as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Graduate Student Researcher at UC Berkeley, and a Mechanical Design Engineer at Pratt & Whitney, as well as a Project Engineer at Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. Sarah holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University.
