Suvranu De currently serves as the Google Endowed Dean of Engineering at Florida A&M University and Florida State University since July 2022. De also holds the position of J. Erik Jonsson '22 Distinguished Professor of Engineering and serves as the Department Head of Mechanical, Aerospace and Nuclear Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where a tenure began in January 2002. Prior to these roles, De directed the Center for Modeling, Simulation and Imaging in Medicine (CeMSIM) at R.P.I from October 2010 until July 2022. Educational qualifications include a Sc.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1995-2002), an ME in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science (1993-1995), and a BME in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University (1989-1993).
