Laura Smales Garner, MSW, currently serves as the Development Director at Renton Regional Community Foundation since May 2025. Previously, Laura worked as the Donor Relations Officer (Major Gifts Officer) and later as Membership and Giving Manager at Cascade Bicycle Club from March 2019 to May 2025, where responsibilities included building relationships with donors and planning successful fundraising events. Earlier experience includes roles at the University of Washington in Advancement Services and as Advancement Coordinator for the College of the Environment, as well as a Health Promotion Coordinator at Southern Jamaica Plain Health Center, focusing on health equity and fundraising. Laura's career began as the Executive and Board Affairs Manager at Planned Parenthood of Central Ohio, where significant responsibilities included facilitating board meetings and supporting organizational mergers. Laura holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from The Ohio State University, along with a Master of Social Work from Boston University, specializing in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management.
