Marc Hyer has over 30 years of work experience in the pharmaceutical and medical research industry. Marc is currently the Director of Pharmacology at Repare Therapeutics since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Servier Pharmaceuticals as a Disease Biology Expert in Pharmacology and Cancer Biology from 2021 to 2022. Marc also held the position of Associate Director of Cancer Pharmacology at Agios Pharmaceuticals from 2017 to 2021. Before that, Marc worked at Millennium Pharmaceuticals as a Scientist in Cancer Pharmacology for over 10 years, leading projects in the breast/ovarian cancer space. Marc began their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute, focusing on the mechanisms of apoptotic cell death in cancer cells. Marc also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Medical University of South Carolina, researching gene therapy strategies for prostate cancer. Marc holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Georgia. Marc started their career as a Phlebotomist at Augusta Regional Medical Center.
Marc Hyer completed their Bachelor's of Science in Biology at The University of Georgia from 1987 to 1992. Marc then pursued further education at the Medical University of South Carolina, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Pathobiology from 1995 to 2001.
