Senior Vice President at Repertoire Immune Medicines

Arthur (Andy) Hurwitz has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the biotech and medical fields. Arthur (Andy) is currently the Senior Vice President at Repertoire Immune Medicines, a position they obtained in September 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Vice President and Head of R&D at Mana Therapeutics from June 2020 to September 2021. From 2018 to 2020, they held the role of Vice President and Head of Preclinical Research at AgenTus Therapeutics. In this position, they led a team of scientists and contributed to the discovery and validation of unique neo-antigens for vaccine and cell therapy platforms. Andy also played a significant role in the CTA/IND submission of the first-in-human program.

Before joining AgenTus Therapeutics, Andy worked at Agenus as a Senior Director from 2015 to 2018. Arthur (Andy) has also contributed to academia as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences from 2005 to 2017. Prior to that, they served as a Principal Investigator at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) from 2003 to 2015. Andy began their career as an Assistant Professor at SUNY Upstate Medical University, where they worked from 1999 to 2008.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that Andy has a background in emergency medical services, as they held the position of Lieutenant in the EMS Division at the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. since January 2004.

Andy Hurwitz earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology and French from Tufts University from 1983 to 1987. Arthur (Andy) then pursued their education at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where they obtained their Ph.D. in Pathology from 1989 to 1994. Following this, Andy undertook a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Cancer Immunology at the University of California, Berkeley from 1994 to 1999. Prior to their higher education, Andy attended Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School. Additionally, they hold certifications in FireFighter I from Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute, obtained in December 2014, and in EMT-B from Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems, obtained in April 2004.
