Kamal Govender

Kamal Govender currently serves as the ESG Upstream Director at Repsol, a role assumed in May 2023, following a tenure as Director of ESG at Western Midstream from July 2021 to June 2023. Kamal's professional journey includes significant positions such as Steering Committee Member for ONE Future and Senior Advisor - Environment at Total, where leadership was provided on environmental projects for the Mozambique LNG Project. Experience also encompasses time as HSE Representative at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and Principal Consultant at ERM: Environmental Resources Management, where business operations and ESG risk mitigation were key responsibilities. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science (MSc) and a BSc (Honours) in Environmental Science from the University of Cape Town.
