Emida Natalaray

Director, School of Technology for the Arts at Republic Polytechnic

Emida Natalaray is the current Director of the School of Technology for the Arts at Republic Polytechnic. Prior to this, they were a lecturer at Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Singapore Polytechnic, where they taught courses in business communication skills, teamwork, film history, film appreciation and scriptwriting. Emida Natalaray has also worked as a Senior Executive Producer at MediaCorp Pte Ltd, where they produced and directed Singapore's most loved family TV drama, Growing Up (seasons 2 to 4). The show won Best Drama at the 1998 Asian Television Awards. Other drama/comedy credits include Police & Thief, First Touch, Moulmein High 2, Triple 9, Dreamers. Emida Natalaray is also experienced in multi-camera direction for variety entertainment shows like Rollin' Good Times, Fame Awards, Golden Reunion. Emida has directed well-known HK star Carol Cheng in their 1st Channel 5 English comedy, Oh Carol!

Emida Natalaray first attended the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus (CHIJ Toa Payoh) for their GCE O levels where they studied literature, geography, history and human social biology. Emida then went on to Catholic Junior College for their GCE A levels, where they majored in literature, geography and economics. After that, they furthered their studies at the National University of Singapore (NUS) where they obtained their Bachelor of Arts in mass communication, literature and sociology. Emida also has a Professional Diploma in creative entrepreneurship from NUS-CIDA Asia-Creative Community Singapore-SWDA. In addition, they have completed an Acting Techniques for Directors course with Judith Weston and Barry Primus and a Cinematography and Film/Video Production course from the Maine International Film & Television Workshops in Rockport, Maine.

Their manager is Yeo Li Pheow, Principal & CEO. Emida Natalaray works with Laurence Tan - Director, Estate, Lim Boon Whatt - Director, School of Applied Science, and James Lee - Director, Industry & Collaboration SkillsFuture.
