James Newman

James Newman, CFA, is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in investment management and business development. Currently serving as a General Partner and Fund Manager at Republic, as well as VP of Operations since November 2024, James also contributes to The Digital Economy Initiative as a member of the Advisory Council. Previous roles include Global Head of Business Development & Partnerships at WebN Group and a C-Suite position at Elwood Technologies, where James facilitated operational realignment and strategic development. James has held positions at Brevan Howard, Saltford Football Club as a Digital Advisor, and has built a diversified portfolio as an angel investor and advisor. An expert in frontier technologies, James' earlier experience includes leadership roles at NatWest Markets and HSBC, building a solid foundation with a Master's in Financial Management and a Bachelor's in Economics from Durham University.
