Margarida Balseiro Lopes

Margarida Balseiro Lopes currently serves as Ministra da Juventude e Modernização in the XXIV Governo da República Portuguesa since April 2024. Prior to this role, Margarida worked as a Senior Consultant in Core Business Operations at Deloitte Portugal from April 2022 until April 2024 and served as a Deputada at Assembleia da República from October 2015 to March 2022. Margarida's early career includes positions as a Tax Senior Consultant and Tax Consultant at EY and Ernst & Young, respectively. In terms of education, Margarida is presently a PhD student in Law at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, having completed a Pós-graduação Lato Sensu in Fiscalidade and a Mestrado in Law and Management at the same institution. Additionally, a Licenciatura in Direito was obtained at the University of Lisbon. Education was preceded by studies at Escola Secundária Calazans Duarte.
