Dr. Sushmitha Sundar currently serves as the Head of Life Sciences at the Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad since April 2022. Prior to this role, Dr. Sundar held various positions at the Indian School of Business from February 2017 to March 2022, including Program Manager for I-Venture @ ISB and the Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, where responsibilities encompassed planning and executing significant entrepreneurial programs for the Government of Telangana. Dr. Sundar's academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the National University of Singapore, alongside several advanced certificates in management and digital marketing.

Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad
Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad (RICH), a Telangana Government initiative and the nodal agency appointed by the Office of Principal Scientific Adviser to Government of India for Hyderabad Cluster, aims to bring research institutions, academic institutions, industry, startups, incubators, accelerators, VCs, civil society members, and Governments on a common platform to fast-track innovation. Launched in 2017, RICH fosters collaboration between entities in its core focus sectors of Aerospace and Defence, Food and Agriculture, Lifesciences for an effective innovation ecosystem, also having expanded its operations into allied fields such as sustainability - with a focus of renewable energy and waste management - and emerging technology. RICH is registered as a not-for-profit Section 8 entity under Companies Act 2013. RICH’s focus areas are Life Sciences, Agriculture & Food, and Sustainability. RICH also works with all members of the ecosystem even-handedly and transparently, and has over 30 research and academic institutions including IIT Hyderabad, ISB, IIIT Hyderabad, CCMB, IICT, NIN, etc. onboard as partners, over 25 industry partners, predominantly for the Life Sciences and Agriculture sectors, 10 international partners including Purdue University in US, NHS in UK, 12 hospitals where test beds are being set up to help Medtech startups get access to samples, and clinicians for testing and evaluation, and over 10 associations including NASSCOM, Public Health Foundation of India, etc.
