Mikko Laitinen is an accomplished Academy Research Fellow at the Academy of Finland since September 2020, specializing in materials analysis, particularly in elemental depth profiling down to sub-monolayer films. With a long-standing affiliation at the University of Jyväskylä since 2005, Mikko has held several roles including Staff Scientist (currently on leave), where expertise in materials analysis has been further honed. Additionally, Mikko is a licensed radiation protection expert, providing expertise for various companies. Previous positions include Postdoctoral Researcher, Board Member at European Art & Research Holding Oy, and researcher at Oy RECENART Ltd focusing on mobile hyperspectral imaging. Mikko has contributed to international scientific communities through roles at the International Atomic Energy Agency and CERN. Educational credentials include a PhD in Physics from the University of Jyväskylä, current pursuit of an Executive MBA, and a title of Docent in Physics from the University of Helsinki.
