Laura Leonides has worked in the IT industry since 2003. Laura started their career as a Software Developer for the Institute for Philosophical Research and Faculty of Sciences, UNAM. In 2005, they moved to SIF ICAP (Mexican Stock Exchange) as a Software Developer. In 2008, they joined Xöty as a Project Manager. Laura also worked as a Teaching Assistant and Lecturer at the Faculty of Sciences, UNAM. In 2009, they were a Teaching Assistant for postgraduate students at the Institute for Research in Applied Mathematics and Systems, UNAM. In 2012, they started working as a Software Developer for independent personal projects and as a DBA for La Red Corporativo. In 2014, they joined Research For Good Inc. as a Sr Java Developer, Technical Product Manager, and eventually Head Of Engineering. In their roles, they have coordinated with executives to advise and plan short-term and long-term IT system needs, produced executive summaries and informative metrics for progress reports and forecasting team needs, overseen IT department operations and training, proposed, designed, developed and maintained IT solutions, built APIs for exposing services to partner companies, integrated partners' services into systems, and identified innovative and automated approaches to routine tasks.

Laura Leonides obtained a Bachelor of Computer Science (B.Sc.) from the Faculty of Science at the UNAM in 2005, with a field of study in Theory of Computation. In 2007, they obtained an Oracle Database 10g Administrator Certified Associate from Oracle. Laura then went on to obtain a Master of Science (M.Sc.) from the Institute for Research in Applied Mathematics and Systems (IIMAS) at the UNAM in 2011, with a field of study in Computational Logic.
