Kyle Smith

Kyle Smith has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Kyle started their career at the University of Maryland as a Mechanical Engineer Researcher, where they conducted thermal analyses of power electronic devices and performed material characterization.

After that, they joined AAI Corporation as a Systems Engineer, where they led flight integration projects for an ISR program and managed support operations in Afghanistan. Kyle worked with multidisciplinary teams and collaborated with unmanned air systems to disseminate mission-critical information on the battlefield.

Following their time at AAI Corporation, Kyle joined General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems as a Lead Systems Engineer. Kyle championed continuous improvement and Agile principles while managing a $30 million project. Kyle also led a year-long research study and co-developed a process map for process engineering and improvement.

Currently, Kyle is employed at Research Innovations Incorporated as a Product Owner. Kyle collects and analyzes mission, user, and system requirements to develop a unified product strategy through user-centered design principles and systems engineering best practices. Kyle conducts user engagement sessions and documents high-level product strategy in a prioritized roadmap.

Kyle Smith earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland from 2005 to 2009. Kyle then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same university from 2009 to 2012.
