Danielle Botelho, PhD, currently serves as the Director of Scientific Operations at the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials, Inc. (RIFM), a position held since June 2015, where responsibilities include directing the RIFM Science Program, developing organizational strategies, and leading a team of 16 scientists in delivering safety assessments for fragrance materials. Previously, Danielle was the Safety Assessment Manager at RIFM and a Respiratory Toxicologist, contributing to the safe use of fragrance materials through research and assessments. Danielle obtained a PhD in Toxicology from Rutgers University, completing a thesis focused on nanoparticle effects on lung function and inflammation, and earned a BS in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Early career experience includes work as a Staff Scientist at Aqua Survey, Inc., and training as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at UC Davis.
