Cynthia Meurling

Cynthia Meurling has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Cynthia began their career as a Community Health Volunteer with the Peace Corps, where they successfully implemented health education programs and secured funding for gender empowerment initiatives. Cynthia later worked as a Program Assistant with Family Care International and as a Safe Motherhood Intern with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

Meurling then transitioned into roles with IntraHealth International, starting as a Project Operations Officer and later becoming an Operations Manager. During their time at IntraHealth, they developed operational manuals, conducted trainings, and implemented safety and security plans across multiple countries. Cynthia also served as the Compliance and Security Advisor, overseeing compliance programs and offering emergency support for employees in crisis.

In 2014, Meurling joined Ipas where they held the position of Senior Program Advisor and eventually became the Director of Global Award Management. Cynthia led Ipas's largest donor portfolio, ensuring effective project and financial management across multiple countries. Meurling also expanded the scope of the department to include leadership of ethics and compliance, procurement, and subawarding functions.

Most recently, Meurling joined RTI International as the Operations Lead for USAID's Act to End Neglected Tropical Diseases | East Program. Cynthia currently serves as the Director of Operations in the Global Health Division, overseeing operations on a global scale.

Throughout their career, Meurling has demonstrated strong leadership skills, expertise in operations and compliance, and a dedication to improving health outcomes in underserved communities.

Cynthia Meurling obtained a Master of Studies in Law with a focus on Business Law and Compliance from Wake Forest University in the years 2018 to 2020. Cynthia holds a Master of Public Administration degree in International Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. Cynthia also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and German Studies from Tufts University. Cynthia'seducation includes coursework in Political Science at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Additionally, they have certifications in Project Management for Development Professionals from Mission Critical Development Inc. and a Certificate in Security Management from REDR UK, both obtained in 2015.
