Rachel Friedman is a seasoned professional in international development and energy sectors, currently serving as the Central Africa Technical Lead at RTI International since December 2019. Previously, Rachel held the position of Country Lead for Rwanda, Burundi, and the DRC within the USAID-funded Power Africa East Africa Energy Program. Rachel's expertise further extends through roles such as Energy Private Sector Development and Finance Expert at MARGE and Transaction Advisor for the Power Africa Transactions and Reforms Program at Tetra Tech. Additional experience includes leading renewable energy interventions at Adam Smith International and serving as Chief Financial Officer at Great Lakes Energy. Rachel’s background also features program management at The Bridge Fund and analytical roles in energy assessment at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. Rachel holds a Master's Degree in Geography, Planning, Environment, and Trade in the Developing World from Université Paris IV - Sorbonne and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and French from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
