Sharon Wienbar brings extensive experience as an operating executive, investor and strategist to help guide growth in companies large and small to the Resideo Board of Directors, where she chairs the Compensation Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee and Nominating and Governance Committee.
She was CEO of San Francisco-based Hackbright Academy, an engineering school for women, and served as strategic adviser to Hackbright's new corporate parent, Capella Education Company.
At Scale Venture Partners, a technology venture capital firm, Wienbar led investments in software companies and served on their boards. She launched her tech career at Adobe Systems, starting as product manager for Asian products, and later leading marketing for many of Adobe’s applications. Before her technology line experience, she practiced strategy consulting at Bain & Company.
She is a prominent public speaker and published author on venture capital and the #changetheratio diversity effort. Wienbar was named a Women’s Inc. 2019 “Most Influential” Corporate Director. She was also recognized by the Huffington Post as one of the “Top 25 Women in Tech to Follow on Twitter” and as one of the website’s “40 Over 40” women to watch. She is an author of several Stanford Graduate Business School cases and subject of a case study on women in venture capital.
Wienbar earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree in engineering from Harvard University and her M.B.A. from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
