Claudia Askew, APR has a diverse work experience in the public relations and marketing field. Claudia began their career in 1999 as an Associate Vice President at Matthews Media Group, where they directed public information campaigns for government and private organizations working to develop treatments and cures for AIDS, Alzheimer's, cancer and other diseases. In 2000, they became a Communications Consultant and Board Chair for Urban Ed, Inc., a DC-based nonprofit providing technical training, academic enrichment and workplace readiness in low-income communities of color. From 2014 to 2022, Claudia worked as a Marketing and Public Relations Planner and Senior Philanthropic Partnerships Manager at NeighborWorks America. In this role, they directed marketing and public relations for the NeighborhoodLIFT program, a national down-payment assistance program in collaboration with a major lending institution. Claudia also provided strategic marketing support to participating local nonprofits and the funder, as well as served as a liaison to funders and nonprofits serving marginalized communities, especially communities of color. Currently, Claudia is a Senior Philanthropic Partnerships Manager at Resilia.
