Aaron Acharya

Director, Global Operations at Resolve To Save Lives

Aaron Acharya has had a diverse range of work experiences over the years. Aaron'smost recent position was as the Director of Global Operations at Resolve to Save Lives, starting in February 2022. Before that, they worked at Vital Strategies, where they held several roles including Director of Global Security from February 2021 to January 2022, Deputy Director of Global Security from September 2018 to February 2021, and Global Safety and Occupational Health Officer from April 2018 to September 2018.

Prior to their time at Vital Strategies, Aaron worked at the American Jewish World Service (AJWS) where they held various roles including Associate Director of Risk Management and Administrative Services from November 2014 to April 2018, Associate Director of International Operations from September 2012 to October 2014, and Associate Director of Service from August 2011 to September 2012.

Before their work at AJWS, Aaron was the Executive Director of the Association of Bhutanese in America from January 2007 to July 2014. Aaron also worked as a Project Manager at HealthRight International's Human Rights Clinic from June 2003 to August 2011.

In addition, Aaron has served on the Board of Directors at Global Youth Connect from May 2005 to October 2008. Aaron also worked as an Administrative Intern at the WA State Attorney General's Office from April 2003 to June 2003 and as a Civil Rights Peer Trainer at Evergreen State College Office of Equal Employment Opportunity from September 2001 to March 2003.

Earlier in their career, Aaron worked as a Journalism Counselor at the Louis August Jonas Foundation's Camp Rising Sun from June 2002 to August 2002. Aaron also held the position of International Secretary at the Youth Organization of Bhutan from January 1999 to January 2002.

Aaron Acharya has a diverse education history. Aaron obtained a Master's degree in Public Administration (MPA) from The Evergreen State College, where they studied from 2001 to 2003. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in English Literature from St. Joseph's College in Darjeeling, India, between 1994 and 1997.

Aaron also attended Sherubtse College in Bhutan from 1990 to 1992, where they completed their High School education. Additionally, they pursued a Master's degree in English Literature from North Bengal University, but specific start and end years are not provided.

In terms of certifications, Aaron obtained a Project DPro Foundation certification from PM4NGOs in September 2021. Aaron also holds a Risk Leadership Certificate from the Nonprofit Risk Management Center, achieved in July 2017. Furthermore, they possess a BTEC Level 4 Professional Certificate in Security Management from Control Risks, obtained in an undisclosed year. Aaron's most recent certification is a Hostile Environment Awareness Training - Level 5, received from RIsk and Strategic Management Consulting in September 2019.
