Dan Dean

CEO at Resort Group, LLC

Dan has been a Steamboat Springs resident since 1986, working in the hospitality industry the entire time. Dan started his resort career at Timber Run condominiums as Assistant Plant Manager. He was promoted to Front Office Manager of the property in 1988, and then became General Manager of the Village at Steamboat in 1990. Dan managed this resort property for ten (10) years or until December of 2000, when he was recruited by Mr. Andy Van Baak, owner of Resort Group, to become Vice President of the company. In 2005, Dan was promoted to President of the organization, and then ultimately became Chief Executive Officer in December of 2010, simultaneous with Andy's retirement.

Dan and his wife Tonya have one (1) son, Decker, who is an active member of USA Nordic Sports National Ski Jumping Team. Dan is an elected member of the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club Board of Directors and Chairman of the Rocky Mountain Division Special Jumping / Nordic Combined Discipline Committee. He is vested in Steamboat Springs not only professionally, but also personally.

Having lived and worked in the hospitality industry in Steamboat Springs for over thirty (30) years, Dan has witnessed first-hand the evolution of the resort community. He possesses a wealth of knowledge and extensive experience in every aspect of property management, including homeowner's association management, marketing and sales of nightly rental programs and hotel operations. His proven management style is to assemble the best possible group of professionals, and to encourage adaptability, creativity and autonomy while offering his unique perspective.
