Harley Wong Chan has a long and diverse work experience, primarily in the field of prepress and production art. Harley started their career at Dylex Women's Wear in 1984 as a Design Co-ordinator, where they were responsible for designing and assisting an advertising agency in producing point-of-sale (POS) signage for Fairweather stores across Canada. Harley also managed the in-store music program.
In 1983, Harley joined Dylex Limited as a Fairweather Design Co-ordinator, focusing on the production of point-of-purchase (P.O.P) materials. Harley worked in this role until 1995.
In 1995, Harley began working at Resource Label Group as a Senior Prepress Artist. In this role, they demonstrated proficiency in various design and print production programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Esko AE. Harley also had experience with Microsoft Office and was able to quickly learn new programs, company standards, and procedures. Harley had expertise in troubleshooting MAC and PC software and hardware issues. Harley worked unsupervised in a fast-paced environment, complying with ISO/Pharmaceutical protocols.
During the same year, Harley also worked at Tapp Label Company as a Senior Prepress/Production Artist. In this role, they checked incoming digital files for printability issues and provided support to other division prepress departments.
From 1995 to 2016, Harley was employed at Metro Label as a Senior Prepress Operator. Their responsibilities included checking digital files for printability issues and providing support to other division prepress departments.
Throughout their career, Harley has accumulated a wealth of experience in prepress and production art, with a strong technical skillset and the ability to work efficiently in a variety of environments.
Harley Wong Chan attended George Brown College Continuing Education from 1979 to 1981. During this time, they obtained a Certificate in Graphic Design Technician.
