Product Design Lead at Resq

Nick Heise has worked in the digital product design industry since 2001. Nick began their career as a Designer at Microsoft (MSN Canada) where they worked exclusively on the MSN property, doing visual design for notable channels such as Hotmail, MSN Autos & MSN Kids. In 2004, they moved to Ariad Custom Communications as a Designer, and was promoted to Creative Services Manager in 2008. Nick then worked as a Motion Designer at Critical Mass in 2007. In 2010, they became the Head of User Experience at Nascent, a boutique digital product consultancy. From 2014-2016, they were a Product Designer at Facebook, where they helped co-lead an emergent product team to design and build innovative mobile experiences. Nick then moved to Figure 1 in 2016 as Design Lead, where they managed a small design team and focused on long-term career development. In 2017, they began teaching as an Adjunct Professor at York University and Sheridan College. In 2018, they became the Product Design Lead at ResQ.

Nick Heise attended York University from 2003 to 2007, where they earned a BDes in Graphic Design, Computers, and New Media. Prior to that, they attended Humber College from 1998 to 2000, where they earned a Diploma in Multimedia, Computers, and New Media.
