Maya Gebeily

Maya Gebeily is an experienced journalist with a strong background in Middle Eastern affairs. Currently serving as Bureau Chief for Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan at Reuters since April 2022, Maya previously held the role of Middle East Correspondent at the Thomson Reuters Foundation from April 2021 to April 2022. Prior experience at Agence France-Presse spanned six years, including positions as Deputy Bureau Chief and Correspondent for Iraq, as well as Correspondent for Syria and Lebanon, where coverage focused on security, politics, and social issues. Maya began the journalism career at NOW News as a Reporter in 2013. Maya holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Politics from Georgetown University, earned in 2013.
