Layla Bonis, SHRM-CP, PHR

Layla Bonis is an experienced HR professional with a diverse background. Layla began their career at Walmart, where they held various roles including Accounting Clerk, Customer Service Supervisor, and Cashier from 1994 to 1996. Layla then worked as a Travel Consultant at Benjamin International Travel from 1995 to 1997. Layla joined Tampa Electric in 1997 as a Temp-Load Management Assistant and later became a Sr. Technical Assistant in the Document Services department from 1999 to 2002.

In 2003, Layla joined Lazydays where they served as an HR Specialist, responsible for processing and maintaining employment data, overseeing HRIS reporting, managing I-9 and e-verify processes, and providing HR support to associates. Layla also handled employment verifications, performance appraisals, and employee file maintenance. Layla worked at Lazydays until April 2008.

From February 2008, Layla worked at Rev1 Energy as the Human Resources Director & Business Manager. Layla'sresponsibilities included providing strategic HR direction, managing all areas of HR operations such as staffing, benefits, training, employee relations, and policies and procedures implementation. Layla oversaw open enrollment, worker's compensation, data analysis, and commercial insurance renewals. Layla also handled general office activities and assisted with accounting functions when needed.

In 2009, Layla worked as a Consultant at Mushroom Golf, Inc. before joining HR Tampa in January 2011. At HR Tampa, Layla held various positions on the Board of Directors, including President, President Elect, Treasurer, Secretary, and Director of Technology. As President, they provided leadership to the local chapter and ensured the needs of the members were met. Layla's term as President lasted from January 2019 to December 2020.

Layla Bonis, SHRM-CP, PHR, has attended Hillsborough Community College but did not complete a degree. In 2010, they obtained the Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI. In 2015, Layla achieved the SHRM-CP certification from SHRM.
