Sophie Monsarrat is a Rewilding Manager at Rewilding Europe since September 2022 and serves as a Scientific Advisor and Supervisory Board member at Rewilding France since February 2022. With a strong background in ecological research, Sophie held the position of Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Aarhus University from January 2019 to August 2022, and prior to that, was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Nelson Mandela University from December 2016 to December 2018. Additional research experience includes roles as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement and a PhD candidate at the Centre d'Ecologie Fonctionnelle et Evolutive - CNRS, where the focus was on reconstructing marine mammals' historical distribution and abundance. Sophie obtained a Master in Ecology, Biodiversity, Evolution, and a Magistère in Biology and Biotechnology from Paris-Sud University, followed by a PhD in Ecology, Evolution, Systematics, and Population Biology from the University of Montpellier.
