Rui Costa Pinto

Rui Costa Pinto is a highly experienced medicinal chemist currently serving as Principal Scientist and Medicinal Chemistry Project Leader at Rewind Therapeutics since July 2021. Prior to this role, Rui worked at BIAL from March 2012 to July 2021, where responsibilities included leading a multidisciplinary team as Project Team Leader and serving as Senior Medicinal Chemist, focusing on the design and planning of new chemical entities and mentoring junior team members. Rui's early career included a position as a PhD student at REQUIMTE, Department of Chemistry, from March 2008 to July 2012, under the supervision of Professor Maria Teresa Barros, and as a Teaching Assistant at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 2006. Rui holds a PhD in Sustainable Chemistry and a Licentiate degree in Applied Chemistry with a specialization in Organic Synthesis, both from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
