Rahul Young

Senior Director, Community Engagement at Rewiring America

Rahul Young has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the environmental and sustainability sectors. Rahul is currently serving as the Director of Local Engagement at Rewiring America, a nonprofit organization focused on electrifying households to reduce emissions. Prior to this, Rahul worked as the Deputy Director at the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition from 2018 to 2021. Rahul also held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Tides from 2016 to 2018. Rahul's earlier experience includes leadership roles at ICF International, where they served as the Vice President of Northwest Line of Business Leader in the energy, environment, and transportation sector, and as the Bay Area Branch Leader and Principal in Energy, Environment & Transportation. Before that, Rahul worked as the Green Building Coordinator at the City of Berkeley and as the Green Affordable Housing Project Manager at Community Opportunities Group, Inc. Rahul began their career as the Green Building Project Manager and Director of Marketing at WorldBuild, Inc. Overall, Rahul has a strong background in sustainability and environmental management.

Rahul Young attended Stanford University from 1993 to 1998, where they obtained both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science degree. Their fields of study were Civil Engineering with a focus on Sustainable Construction, as well as Public Policy.
