Tom Mercer

Tom Mercer has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Tom is currently working as the Head of Product at Rewiring America since January 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the VP of Product at Via from March 2021 to October 2022. Tom also served as an Advisor at Weave Grid from May 2020 to May 2021. Before that, Tom held various roles at Remix, including Chief Product Officer from November 2019 to March 2021 and VP of Product from July 2018 to November 2019.

Tom also has experience at Opower as the Senior Director of Product Management from October 2010 to July 2018, where they led a team of product managers and was responsible for Opower's core DSM products and analytics products. Tom worked as a Strategic Project Manager at the Woods Institute for the Environment, Stanford University from May 2010 to September 2010, where they conducted stakeholder workshops, developed a strategic plan, and published a working paper.

In the earlier years of their career, Tom had internships at Sustainable Spaces/Recurve and Amazon.com/Lab126, where they gained experience in product development and management. Tom also worked as an Editorial & Marketing Manager at St. Martin's Press from September 2003 to April 2007.

Tom Mercer obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Literature from Harvard University, where they studied from 1997 to 2001. Later, they pursued an MBA/MS degree in Environment and Resources from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where they studied from 2007 to 2010. In 2013, they also obtained a certification in "A Beginner's Guide to Irrational Behavior" from Coursera.
