Michael Shain

Michael Shain is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Vice President, Associate General Counsel, and Senior Legal Consultant at Reworld Waste since September 2020. In this role, Michael manages contracting and legal matters for waste-to-energy projects, environmental services, and procurement activities, while advising on project agreements for WtE plants in the Western US. Prior to this position, Michael held significant roles at Covanta from July 2006 to August 2020, including International Legal Consultant and Vice President of Commercial and Legal Affairs, where responsibilities included overseeing legal functions across the Asia Pacific region. Michael also has a robust background in corporate law from previous positions as a Partner at Blumenthal Richter & Sumet and Minter Ellison, along with experience as a Consultant at Baker & McKenzie. Michael holds a Juris Doctor and a Master's Degree in International Studies from the University of Washington and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Middlebury College.
