Lana Burton

Lana Burton has extensive work experience in talent acquisition, with a focus on recruitment strategies and processes. Lana currently holds the role of Director of Talent Acquisition at RF-SMART, where they are responsible for transforming customers and changing lives through mobile inventory solutions. Prior to this, Lana was the Principal and Founder of Be META, a role they held since January 2020.

From 2020 to 2021, Lana worked as the Director (Head of) North American Talent Acquisition at Maple Leaf Foods Inc. Here, they oversaw talent acquisition efforts for the company in North America.

Before joining Maple Leaf Foods, Lana was the Director of Talent Acquisition at Walmart Canada from 2015 to 2019. In this role, they led a team of professionals in designing and deploying innovative recruitment strategies, with a focus on external talent sourcing and assessment. Lana was responsible for recruitment in various areas, including the corporate head office, store operations, and campus programs. During their time at Walmart Canada, Lana developed expertise in employment branding, machine learning, and coaching/mentoring emerging leaders.

Prior to their role at Walmart Canada, Lana worked at Walmart as a Senior Manager of Field Talent Acquisition from 2013 to 2015. In this role, they focused on developing and implementing recruitment and selection techniques for field positions. Before that, they served as a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Walmart from 2011 to 2013, where they contributed to the development of the company's workforce.

Lana's earlier experience includes roles at Pro Count Staffing as an Account Executive from 2008 to 2011, and at Bilingual Source as a Manager of Recruitment and Staffing from 2005 to 2008.

Lana Burton has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from Western University and a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree from the University of Calgary.
