Julie Simpson

Julie Simpson has a diverse work experience in event management and operations. Julie currently works as the Director of Event Operations at BLAST, a position they have held since December 2023. Prior to this role, they served as the Head of Events and Senior Project Manager at BLAST. Julie Simpson also has experience as an Operations Manager at BLAST from January 2019 to June 2021.

Before joining BLAST, Julie Simpson worked as an Operations Manager (freelance) at Race of Champions from October 2014 to January 2022. Julie also worked as a Content and Events Manager at WorldSkills UK from August 2018 to January 2019, and as an Event Manager at Glasgow 2018 for the European Swimming Championships from May 2018 to September 2018.

Julie Simpson's previous work experience includes roles such as Venue Operations Manager at Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation from September 2017 to June 2018, Major Events and International Relations Coordinator at UK Sport from September 2016 to October 2017, and Accommodation Cluster Manager at Fuse Sport + Entertainment for the UEFA Champions League Finals in 2016.

Julie also worked as Accommodation & TSCC Operations for Rugby World Cup 2015 at England 2015 from April 2015 to November 2015, and as Venue Management / Operations Coordinator at Glasgow 2014 Limited from March 2012 to September 2014.

Julie Simpson obtained a BA (hons) degree in Marketing & HR from the University of Strathclyde, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. In 2020, they received the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certification from APMG International.
