Dan Plant

Founder & CTO at RHEON LABS

Dan Plant has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. In 2006, they served as a Technical Advisor for the British Standards Institute & CE Convenor. From 2011 to 2012, they worked as an Advisor for the 2012 Olympic Committee. In 2013, they became an Enterprise Fellow at the Royal Academy of Engineering, a position they held until 2015. In 2001, Dan founded DJPdesign, where they served as CEO, focusing on consulting and technical designing for the development of test equipment. More recently, in 2017, they founded RHEON LABS and assumed the role of Founder & CTO. RHEON LABS specializes in developing energy control solutions for various products, working with leading sports brands to enhance performance.

Dan Plant earned a Bachelor's degree in Mech Eng from Imperial College London in 1996. Dan then pursued a Master's degree in Postgraduate MA Industrial Design Engineering from the Royal College of Art between 1997 and 1999. Later, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Body Armour and Strain rate sensitive materials from Imperial College London, completing their studies in 2013.

The company is combining a distinct brand experience with RHEONTM technology to create products that truly change the game. The company collaborates with leading sports, safety,and protective equipment manufacturers to develop custom solutions to improve the performance, comfort, and protection of their products. Customers already include Xenith (an American football helmet manufacturer) and FLY Racing (a motorcycle helmet manufacturer). Collaborations with a number of other leading brands in the sporting, PPE, and motorsport sectors are currently underway.
