Director Of Plans, Operations, And Training at Rhode Island Army National Guard

David Lemont has a diverse work experience primarily in military roles. David started their career in the US Army as an Infantryman from 1993 to 1996. David then joined the Rhode Island Army National Guard and served as a Field Artillery Fire Direction Officer/Platoon Leader and Counter Drug Intel Analyst from 1996 to 2004. After that, they became a Captain in the US Army, serving as a HQ Battery Commander for a Field Artillery Brigade and HQ and Service Battery Commander for a Field Artillery Battalion from 2004 to 2008. David then returned to the Rhode Island Army National Guard and worked as the State Partnership Program Director from 2008 to 2009. From 2009 to 2011, they served as an Executive Officer in the 1/103rd Field Artillery, responsible for base operations support during Operation New Dawn. David transitioned to the Rhode Island National Guard as a Logistics Officer, Brigade S4 from 2013 to 2014. In 2014, they joined the 13th Civil Support Team as a Deputy Commander until 2018. Since then, they have held various positions within the Rhode Island Army National Guard, including Battalion Commander, Director of Domestic Operations, and currently as the Director of Plans, Operations, and Training. Additionally, they have experience in coaching as an Assistant Girl's Lacrosse Coach at EGHS since 2013.

David Lemont attended Roger Williams University from 1996 to 1999 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration of Justice. In 2012, they attended Command & General Staff College, where they studied Military Operational Art and Science/Studies. From 2013 to 2018, David pursued a Master of Arts degree in Political Science and Government at Harvard University.
