Rhode Island Army National Guard
Zachary Lapierre is an experienced professional with a diverse background in military and industrial roles. Currently serving in the Rhode Island Army National Guard since March 2007, Zachary has held multiple positions including Training Specialist, Human Resources Specialist, Training NCO, Squad Leader, and Career Counselor for the 56th Troop Command. Responsibilities include overseeing the welfare, fitness, morale, and discipline of a nine-Soldier rifle squad, providing training and equipment management, and directing tactical operations. Additionally, Zachary worked at Electric Boat from September 2013 to March 2022, where roles included Lead for the Quonset Point Veteran Network and Steel Manufacturing. Zachary holds a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Providence College, obtained between 2018 and 2020.

The Rhode Island Army National Guard is the nation's oldest military branch which consists of more that 2,200 members serving both state and federal governments. The Rhode Island Army National Guard has served and remains as an active force in the Global War on Terrorism, with units that have deployed worldwide in direct support of national security objectives. In times of local emergencies and natural disasters, the Rhode Island Guard is called upon to provide military support to civil authorities. Despite being the smallest state, Rhode Island is the only state with a Special Forces Unit, a Special Operations Detachment unit, and an Airborne Infantry.
