Peter T. Ginaitt

Environmental Affairs, Safety and Environmental Compliance Officer at Rhode Island Public Transit Authority

Peter T. Ginaitt has worked in a variety of roles since 1985. From 1985 to 2016, they owned and operated Ginaitt Landscape Service, a landscaping service that focused on maintenance and landscape construction. In 1991, they became a State Representative for the State of Rhode Island, and in 2003, they were appointed Director of Emergency Preparedness for Rhode Island Hospital/Hasbro Childrens Hospital. In 2010, they became Chairman of the Board of Directors for the City of Warwick, R.I. Sewer Authority, and in 2013, they became an Adjunct Instructor at the Community College of Rhode Island. From 2013 to 2016, they served on the Board of Directors for the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority. In 2016, they became an Environmental Affairs, Safety and Environmental Compliance Officer for the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority, and they were also appointed to the National Advisory Council Member for FEMA.

Peter T. Ginaitt has a long and varied educational history. Peter T. holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Natural Resource Studies from the University of Rhode Island, which they earned from 1978 to 1983. Peter T. also holds an Associate of Science in Fire Engineering from the Community College of Rhode Island, which they earned from 1980 to 1988. Peter T. then went on to earn an Associate of Nursing from the Community College of Rhode Island, which they completed from 1988 to 1995. More recently, they earned a DHS Executive Leadership Certificate from the Naval Postgraduate School in 2014-2015, as well as a Certificate in Executive Leadership through DHS and FEMA from the FEMA Emergency Management Institute (EMI) in 2012-2013.
