Tim Maly has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Tim started their career as a Creative Director at Pleiades in 2008 and then worked as Leader's Tour - Admin and Outreach for the New Democratic Party of Canada during the 2008 election. In 2011, Tim worked as Leader's Tour Promotion for the New Democratic Party of Canada during the 2011 election and later as a Writer for Fast Company from November 2011 to March 2012. Tim also worked as Outreach and Promotion for the Leadership 2012 campaign of the New Democratic Party of Canada from January 2012 to March 2012. Tim was a Writer for Wired Magazine from March 2012 to May 2013 and a Collection Editor for Medium.com from June 2013 to January 2014. From 2014 to present, they have held multiple positions including Fellow at Harvard University's metaLAB, Principal at Quiet Babylon, and Senior Lead, Strategic Design & Communications at Rhode Island School of Design's Center for Complexity. Tim also served as a Lecturer at Rhode Island School of Design, teaching communication for designers in the Master of Industrial Design program, running the Design & Fiction studio, and acting as the Graduate Program Director in Spring 2017.
Tim Maly obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Contemporary Studies from the University of King's College, which they completed from 1996 to 2001.
