Andrew Hayes, PhD has worked in a variety of roles since 2003. Andrew began their career as a Graduate Student and Laboratory Coordinator at the University of Maine in 2003. In 2012, they became an Adjunct Professor at Eastern Maine Community College. In 2013, they were a Senior Scientist at L-3 Applied Technologies, Inc. Andrew then became an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the University of Maine at Machias in 2014. From 2015 to 2018, they worked as an Astronomy Consultant and MCAT Tutor at Hayes & Associates LLC. Andrew then worked as a Staff Physicist at ARA from 2018 to 2019. In 2019, they became a Researcher at MaestroGroup. Since 2021, they have been a Senior Computer Scientist at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory and a Senior Nuclear Analyst at Rhombus Power Inc.

Andrew Hayes, PhD, began their educational journey in 1995 when they graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology with a Thomas Jefferson Diploma (Virginia Advanced Studies Diploma plus additional requirements) in Physics, Math, Computer Science, and Electronics. Andrew then attended the University of Virginia from 1999 to 2003, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Astronomy-Physics. Finally, they attended the University of Maine from 2003 to 2012, where they earned a PhD in Physics.
