Douglas Alvarado

Douglas Alvarado has extensive experience in optical networks customer support and field engineering. Douglas worked at ECI Telecom for nearly a decade, where they managed and troubleshooted transport networks such as DWDM, SDH, Ethernet, MPLS, and OTN. During their time there, they collaborated with the Technical Pre Sales department, presented proof of concepts (PoC) and demos for LATAM customers, and provided remote support to customers and field engineers. Prior to that, they worked as a field engineer, specializing in transport networks implementation, support, and maintenance. Douglas also has experience in video security networks through a private contract role. Currently, they are working as an optical networks customer support engineer at Ribbon Communications.

Douglas Alvarado completed their Licenciatura degree in Ingeniería Electrónica from the Tecnológico de Costa Rica, from 2002 to 2010. Douglas further pursued their education by obtaining a Network Technician certification in Routing and Switching CISCO CCNA from the Universidad Técnica Nacional Costa Rica, between 2015 and 2016. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Introduction to Cybersecurity from Cisco in December 2020.
