Senior Director, Head Of APAC And MEA Sales Engineering at Ribbon Communications

Shlomi Aviv has over 18 years of work experience in various technical and leadership roles. Shlomi is currently the Senior Director and Head of APAC and MEA Sales Engineering at Ribbon Communications since March 2020.

Prior to that, they worked at ECI Telecom from 2016 to 2020, where they held the position of Senior Director and Head of APAC Sales Engineering. In this role, they were responsible for developing and leading the APAC Sales Engineering team, as well as the business growth strategy for the region.

From 2007 to 2016, Shlomi worked at ECI Telecom in multiple roles. Shlomi served as a Network Sales Expert Engineer, where they provided professional training and mentoring to Sales Engineers and was an expert in designing and optimizing Data and DWDM networks. Shlomi also held the position of Senior Sales Engineer for EMEA, where they served as the key technical advisor and product advocate for the company's products, and as a Technical Pre-Sale Engineer, providing support to the sales teams and leading PoC/field trials demonstrations.

Before joining ECI Telecom, Shlomi worked at HOT Telecom as an Expert Transmission Engineer from 2005 to 2007. In this role, they were responsible for the operation, design, and configuration of the transmission network, as well as solving critical failures in real-time.

Shlomi's early career experience includes working as a Network Architect in the Israel Air Force from 2002 to 2005. In this role, they were responsible for planning, administering, and optimizing the Voice and Data network of the Air Force, as well as providing detailed designing documents and support to NOC operators.

Shlomi Aviv pursued their education at Ariel University from 2012 to 2016, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. Prior to that, they attended Ort Singalovski from 2000 to 2002, where they completed a Practical Engineer program specializing in Software. In terms of additional certifications, they completed various online courses such as "Sales Training: Practical Sales Techniques", "Filling the Funnel with John Barrows", and "Successful Negotiation: Master Your Negotiating Skills" through Udemy in October and November 2018. Shlomi also received a certification in "Cloud Computing Applications, Part 1: Cloud Systems and Infrastructure" from Coursera Course Certificates in January 2017.
