Martin W. Rice

After 20 years in the financial services industry, Martin Rice co-founded RiceBarrett Family Wealth alongside Beau Barrett in 2018.

As a wirehouse breakaway, for Martin, the Partnered Independence platform offered through Sanctuary Wealth represented an opportunity to deliver a greater depth of service to families across the country, with whom he had built strong client relationships over two decades.

Martin holds an M.S. in agricultural economics from Purdue University and a B.S. in agricultural business from Middle Tennessee State University. He has a unique background that includes not only trading floor experience at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, but also over a decade in agribusiness. This culminated in a role overseeing the launch of ground-breaking genetically modified corn hybrids, the first of their kind in the company and the industry as a whole.

In 1998, Martin decided to pursue his passion for working with individuals and families to provide personalized financial guidance. He attained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER designation in 2001 as well as the Certified Investment Management Analyst designation in 2005.

An avid outdoorsman who enjoys upland hunting and fresh-water big game fishing, Martin is also an active fixed-wing pilot, holding Commercial privileges and a variety of ratings and endorsements. He lives in Tennessee and Indiana with his wife, Jolene, has two grown children, and holds leadership roles in various non-profit organizations in his community.
