Karen Jahr Sphr

Karen Jahr, SPHR, SHRM-SCP has over 30 years of experience in various Human Resources roles. Currently, they are the Director of Global Human Resources at Richardson Electronics, Ltd., where they oversee HR functions for employees in 24 countries and 17 states. Karen is responsible for recruiting, hiring, retention, organizational development, performance management, coaching, policy development, and more. Karen is also a member of various committees, including Safety Council, DEI&B, and 401(k) committees.

Before joining Richardson Electronics, Ltd., Karen worked at Connor Winfield from 1998 to 2015. Karen served as the Human Resource Manager/Director, where they were responsible for all HR functions and acted as a strategic business partner. Additionally, Karen ensured compliance with legal obligations, administered employee benefits programs, and advised the executive management team on HR issues.

Prior to Connor Winfield, Karen worked at The Mitco Group from 1991 to 1998. In various roles, they managed corporate services, benefits administration, payroll, and accounts receivable/payable. Karen also audited insurance plans, resulting in significant cost savings for the company.

Karen's early career included roles at Radisson at Star Plaza, where they gained experience in food and beverage control and restaurant management.

Karen Jahr, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, completed their Bachelor's degree in Hotel, Motel, and Restaurant Management and Business Management from Purdue University Northwest from 1984 to 1988. Prior to that, they earned a High School Diploma from Lake Central High School from 1981 to 1984. Additionally, they obtained their Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) Certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) in February 2017 and December 2013.
