Marshalynn M. Franklin

Deputy Superintendent at Richland School District Two

Marshalynn Franklin, Ph.D, assumed the role of Assistant Superintendent in January 2017. Dr. Franklin oversees initiatives and special projects.

Dr. Franklin helped open Polo Road Elementary as an assistant principal in 2006 and was promoted to principal in 2011. She came to Richland Two in 2005 as an assistant principal at Windsor Elementary. Dr. Franklin began her career in public education as a teacher at Joseph Shanklin Elementary School in Beaufort, S.C.

A graduate of Winthrop University, Dr. Franklin holds a Bachelor of Science in elementary education. She went on to earn two master’s degrees, one in curriculum and instruction from Coppin State College and one in educational administration from the University of South Carolina. Dr. Franklin earned a Doctor of Philosophy in educational leadership from Trident University International.
